Emotion Work in Tabligh Jama’at Texts

This study examines the emotional dynamics of written and oral texts Tabligh Jama’at—respectively, Faza’il-e-A’maal (Virtues Good Deeds) bayan (religious sermon). In them, identifies emotion work—the attempt to generate certain emotions. The discusses how texts’ work relates Tablighi discursive ideology (framing) also posits several emotions that might generate. From these findings, offers idea contributes transforming Muslims’ sphere by attaching them emotionally ultimate religious concerns.
